Pretty good gig, musically speaking. [livejournal.com profile] moonstaff's voice was crystal clear and full of passion (having a properly functioning microphone helped tremendously), The Beast's guitar solos were inspired, and I could actually HEAR my keyboard --had been wondering exactly what it was I was playing. I recall exactly one screw-up, but we were able to adjust to cover it, and nobody was any the wiser. The regular crowd at Middle Earth Music Hall, however, I think was kind of blown away --Wednesdays seem to have evolved into a tradition of folk, mild country, and maybesome blues performers on a single acoustic guitar. Then we come along and knock 'em over with ballsy, loud rock. I don't think they knew what to make of us.

Ah, who cares. It sounded right to me, and I think [livejournal.com profile] moonstaff and The Beast were happy with it, too. Best part of the evening was the fact that our kids were allowed to stay up late and enjoy the show --they have no school today. My son said he enjoyed doing "grown-up things" (i.e., having a drink in a nightclub with friends, listening to some tunes). My daughter said we sounded great.

And just to round things out, there's snow on the ground this morning! What a way to spend a day off from school, huh? The prospect of the white stuff is a little unnerving, though; [livejournal.com profile] arcticelf probably said it best: "This is nature's way of gently reminding us to get snow tires and put the fricken plow on the tractor."
